Underwriting Assistant

Location: Hong Kong

This position largely focuses on providing clerical and administrative support to the Specialty Casualty (Financial Lines) Underwriting team.

Key respnsibilities include: 

  • Managing telephone enquiries
  • Ensuring all internal and external correspondence is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Creating and maintaining underwriting submission and policy files
  • Updating and maintaining underwriting database
  • Preparation of policy wordings and endorsements
  • General filing - including archiving as required

Successful candidates for this role should possess:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese
  • At least 1-2 years business experience - insurance industry experience preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of PC based systems and applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience working with database systems for managing contacts, schedules and calendars
  • An ability to prioritise workflow and to work independently as required
